The Task Pane

Home starts with the Active sheet strip, which describes the sheet you're on: its name, its query mode if a Hawkin table is on it, and when it was last synced. Below it is the Sync Active Table button, highlighted when the sheet is Sync-Monitored.

Tokens & Workbooks

Each workbook can have its own token. Hawkin tokens are either organization-scoped (every team, by default) or team-scoped (only the teams you pick, one or many), so a workbook for one team can use a token that can only see that team.

• The first token you save becomes your default, used by every workbook that doesn't have its own.
• Saving a different token in another workbook changes only that workbook, unless you tick Also use as my default for other workbooks.
• The note under the token field says which one you're using: Set for this workbook, Set for this workbook, and also your default, or Your default token, used by workbooks without their own.
• Use my default token removes this workbook's own token so it goes back to the default.

In a workbook that can't be changed (for example, opened read-only), a token can't be saved for that workbook, so it's saved as your default instead.

Reset clears every token and setting Hawkin Connect has saved in this browser, for all workbooks. It's also how you sign out.

Build Test Table

Choose a Query Mode first; the rest of the form follows from it.

All Tests can be a large data set. The add-in pages through it reliably, but it can take a few minutes.

Filter by

• Teams or Groups: tick one or more, with a search box for long lists.
• Athletes or Test Types: pick one.

Other options

• Include inactive tests — by default only active tests are returned.
• Destination Tab — a name for the new sheet. Leave it blank and the add-in names it from the filter and dates.
• Query Preview — a one-line summary of what will be requested.

Press Build Table to run it.

What's in the Table

Row 1 is a banner describing the query and when it ran: Historical query, Live sync or All tests. The table starts on row 2, newest test first. The sheet tab is coloured by mode.

Metrics aren't fixed: when Hawkin adds a metric, it appears as a new column the next time you build a table. Look up IDs against the sheets from Sync Metadata.

Sync Active Table

Go to a sheet the add-in built and press Sync Active Table on Home. It asks Hawkin what changed since the table's last sync and applies it, keeping the table's original filter.

• A test counts as updated only when one of its values actually changed. The banner's Last synced time updates even when nothing did.
• Sync never deletes rows. A test made inactive after the table was built stays on the sheet.
• Sync fills the table's existing columns. A metric or custom property that wasn't in the table when you built it isn't added.

Syncs are small and quick: they ask only for what changed, so syncing every few minutes is fine.

Test Analysis

Charts for one or two individual tests. You need each test's ID: click a Test ID cell in a test table, then press the paste button next to Test A (Baseline) or Test B (Comparison) to copy it in.

Force-time dashboard

Enter Test A, optionally Test B, and press Generate Dashboard. You get a sheet with the test details, the force-time data (time in seconds and left, right and combined force in newtons for each test) and a line chart. With two tests, both are plotted together for comparison.

• Output to Active Sheet — draw on the current sheet instead of a new one.
• Output Sheet Name — a name for the new sheet. Leave it blank to name it from the test IDs.
• Build graph — untick it to write the data without a chart.
• Chart Theme in Settings switches the charts between dark and light.

Centre-of-pressure plot

For a Free Run test, put its ID in Test A and press Generate COP Plot (Free Run). The sheet holds the COP data (combined, left plate and right plate, in millimetres) and mirrored left and right stabilograms, each with a 95% confidence ellipse. COP data exists only for Free Run tests.

Sync Metadata

Org Management (the Sync Metadata ribbon button) downloads your organization's lists into their own sheets. Sync All Metadata refreshes all five; the buttons below it refresh one at a time.

Test tables store IDs for teams and groups, so these sheets are what you use with XLOOKUP to turn them into names.

Athlete Management

Edit athletes in the Athletes sheet, then send the changes from Org Management → Athlete Management. If the workbook has no Athletes sheet yet, press Sync Athletes first.

Choose the rows in Rows, by sheet row number (2-10 or 3,7,9; row 1 is the header), or leave it blank to use the rows you've selected. Then press Create Athletes or Update Athletes, and confirm.

• Create Athletes adds every chosen row as a new athlete, and ignores the Athlete ID column. Choose only new rows, or you'll create duplicates. Run Sync Athletes afterwards to load the new IDs.
• Update Athletes overwrites each chosen athlete, matched by Athlete ID.
• A blank Position, Sport, DOB or Height keeps the saved value. To clear one, use the Hawkin web app.
• Up to 500 athletes per Create or Update. Send larger rosters in batches.
